 The Realm of Cornelle:

I'd like to personally welcome you to my little space here.  I'll be the first to tell you that I want to make this experience for my readers as insightful as possible.  As a fan of many authors, there are so many things that I would love to be able to ask them about their writing process.  I want to know how they create the characters and the worlds they live in.  But more often than not, those things are kept just out of the reader's reach and only within the pages of the author's work.  I'd like to do something a little different with my site.  I'm going to have an open door policy with regards to my writing process.  I'm letting you all in whenever you decide to stop by.  But don't be surprised if I have guests.  My characters seem to have minds of their own sometimes.

Take Lizzette Monet for example;  She's the lead character from The Daughter of Sin novel, which is Book 1 of  The Angels In Between Series.  I have to say that she was probably the most difficult character that I've ever written.  She fought me at every turn.  I've written Lizzette as the bastardized daughter of a fallen angel.  I use the term bastardized because her father abandons her mother shortly after conception.  Lizzette is blessed with the beauty of heaven and life eternal but she's also cursed with demonic spirits of lust so potent that no man can resist her.  She's the heroine and focal character of this series despite all of her flaws.

"Quit talking about me like I'm just words on a page."

And as we speak of the devil; she just pops up unannounced and of her own accord.

"I do everything of my own accord.  You should know that better than anyone."

I was just explaining to our guests about your character flaws as the heroine of this series.

"I'm not anyone's heroine.  I'm as anti-heroic as anyone can be.  I'm a sex demon who corrupts mankind and sends him out into the world to do despicable things to women.  That's what you wrote.  That's what I am.  You can't make that pretty or heroic."

Ok Lizzette. So you're an anti-heroine.  You see, this is what I mean about you fighting characterization at every turn.  The bottom line is that you are who you are because of an Angel's sin.  The story begins with you taking a stand and rebelling against your demonic urges.  You refuse to corrupt mankind and because of it...

"Because of it...I have demons hunting me so they can control me and Angels stalking me so they can destroy me.  What's your point? I hate the name Lizzette by the way."

What?

"Lizzette Monet.  I hate it."

It's your name.  You're a character in a book.  You can't hate your name.  It fits the back story.  Your mother was a French Creole woman in 18th century New Orleans.  She named.....

"That woman wasn't my mother.  She gave birth to me and threw me off a roof to my death when I was twelve years old.  She was no mother.  My mother was the slave that she made raise me as her own.  You wrote that too remember?"

I was just explaining the origin of your name.

"That's supposed to make me like it?  Try something else.  I hate it even more."

You don't like being the heroine. You don't..

"Anti-heroine."

Whatever.  You don't like it.  You don't like your name.  You have issues Lizzette.

"I'm a two hundred year old sex demon with the face of an angel, the body of a succubus, and in the first chapter of this book....you decide that I have to become celibate in order to save the world.  I'm a celibate sex demon.  Yeah, I would say I have issues."

You didn't mention the demons hunting you or the Angels wanting to kill you.

"Are you gonna give me a period too?"

No. But I did give you Dante.  You remember Dante right?  The tall, dark, handsome, enigmatic, musician who just happens to be semi-immune to the demonic curse of your touch:  His love could prove to be your salvation.

"Oh you mean the one that I get to touch and feel and wrap my body around but can never f--BLEEP"

Lizzette!!  This website is PG-13!  We have guests!

"You're joking right?"

Look, a story needs obstacles of conflict that impede the romantic connection between two wonderful characters like yourself and Dante.  It creates tension and drama.

"And facts like my so-called father being a Fallen Angel with a death wish for his baby girl or me having the entire demonic underground of New Orleans on my ass.....aren't enough?? Oh and we can't forget the fact that Dante has ties to the very same demonic underground that's trying to get their hands on me again.  We Really don't want to leave that out."

Well, I tried to write you as a vampire.  You wouldn't cooperate with that either.

"Why did you write me?"

What?

"You heard me.  Why did you write me in the first place?

I'm not answering that here.

"You wrote me because you wanted to f--BLEEP."

Cut that out!  You know, this is still a work in progress.  I could have you killed in the first book and make this a stand alone novel.

"And I could tell your guests about the cover model for the--BLEEP"

Ok it's time for you to go.  We're done here.   Thanks for stopping by folks.  If you move to the excerpt section you can read some of the first chapter.  Or you can check out the front and back book covers.  And please stop by the Author links where you'll find some amazing authors that I support wholeheartedly.

"I was leaving anyway.  I have something to do."

Where are you going?  What do you mean you have something to do?  I decide what you do.

"You sure you want to know?"

I think I should know what you're going to do.

"Beg me."

I'm a man Lizzette.  I don't beg.

"Now that's funny.  All men beg.  Take it from someone who knows.  Or do you want me to show you?

Ahem... look just tell me.

"That's what I thought.  If you must know, I'm going to f--Bleep Dante."

You can't do that.  We don't know if he's..    Lizzette?  Lizzette?  We don't know for sure if he's.....  Lizzette?

"Quit whining.  You know you wanna to watch.  So do your guests.  In fact, you want them to want to watch.  You wrote me this way Cornelle.  Deal with it."

Lizzette?    Lizzette?

"I really hate that name.  I mean...really."

 I'm not changing the name.

Is that a thong?  Are you wearing a thong?  I don't remember writing you wearing a thong.

"You're staring at your anti-heroine's ass  et"
